What Peekout is

Peekout is a Chrome extension and web application that provides business intelligence — company details, website traffic, LinkedIn ads, and competitor data — for the website you are currently visiting.

Data we collect

Account information

When you sign up we store your email address and authentication tokens so you can stay signed in across sessions. Authentication is handled by Supabase.

Current tab URL

When you click the Peekout icon, the extension reads the domain of the active tab to look up business data. We do not read the URL in the background — only on your explicit click.

Usage & credits

We track credit consumption (which signals you fetch and when) to enforce plan limits and display your balance. We do not track browsing history, page content, or any activity outside of Peekout.

How we use your data

• Authenticate you and keep your session valid.
• Fetch business intelligence for the domain you request.
• Track credit usage so we can show your remaining balance.
• Improve the product based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.

Data we do not collect

• We do not collect browsing history.
• We do not read or store page content.
• We do not run in the background — data is fetched only when you click the extension icon.
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising.

Data storage & security

Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local. Account and usage data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. All network communication uses HTTPS.

Data retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems. Cached business intelligence data (company profiles, traffic stats) is not personal data and may be retained independently.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
